Release Notes Writer for Jira & Confluence
Release notes that never leave Atlassian.
Pick a Jira version, get release notes grouped into new features, improvements and bug fixes, and publish them as a Confluence page. Or let it happen on its own every time a version is released.
What it does
Notes in seconds
Choose one or more versions on the project page. Work items are grouped into sections automatically, with no setup.
Publish to Confluence
Create the page in the space you choose, then update the same page as the version changes. No duplicates.
Automatic on release
Switch it on once per project, and the notes are published when someone releases the version in Jira.
Templates per audience
Different section titles, work types and filters for customers and for your own team. Hide work item keys in customer notes.
Rovo writes it for you
Ask the Release Notes Writer agent in Rovo for technical, neutral or marketing notes. It only uses facts from Jira.
Built for teams that care where their data goes
- Runs on Atlassian. The app runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform. It has no servers of its own and sends no data outside your Atlassian site.
- Least privilege. Read-only access to Jira work items, and access to Confluence pages only to publish the notes. No admin permissions, no access to email addresses.
- Your permissions apply. People only see and publish what they can already see and edit in Jira and Confluence.
- Restricted work items stay private. Automatic publishing always leaves out work items that have a security level.
- Your own AI. Writing is done by your site's Rovo. Nothing is sent to other AI providers.
Pricing
Free for up to 10 users. Larger teams pay per user through the Atlassian Marketplace, with a free trial.
